Dr. Shikha Srivastava, General Surgeon, explains how a stereotactic breast biopsy helps the doctor acquire a tissue sample needed to evaluate a potentially cancerous legion. This procedure has several advantages over a surgical biopsy, including: its performed as an outpatient procedure with local anesthesia, it takes about 30 minutes, and stereotactic biopsies are minimally invasive.
