In a new study, researchers at the Moores Cancer Center and Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, UC San Diego used a complex computer prediction model to determine that intake of vitamin D3 and calcium would prevent 58,000 new cases of breast cancer and 49,000 new cases of colorectal cancer annually in the US and Canada. The researchers model also predicted that 75% of deaths from these cancers could be prevented with adequate intake of vitamin D3 and calcium. Dr. Cedric Garland, UCSD School of Medicine, lead researcher on the study discusses the implications of this finding and the proposed actions. The problem is, we …
The problem is, we no longer live in a natural world, so natural selection isn’t what it used to be. Maybe the natural levels of vitamin D would have sufficed to protect us if it weren’t for all the toxins making us sick nowadays.
Vitamin can not be …
Vitamin can not be patented by drug companies because it’s a naturally occurring hormone, not a true vitamin.
I would usually agree with your healthy skepticism. Vitamin D is cheap & not patentable. Drug companies hate that!

The medical community now recommends levels … not reached by many tanned, outdoorsy people.
To stay above the recommended minimum of 75-150 nmol/L, we must take supplements. Yet even dietary supplementation seems to be countered within the body.
It looks like natural selection has aimed for an optimal vitamin D level substantially lower than the recommended minimum of 75-150 nmol/L. This in turn implies some kind of disadvantage above the optimal level.” Early death?

Drug companies …
Drug companies don’t sell vitamins,
not enough money to be made. Potentially
most people shouldn’t lack vitamin D,
but they do. I don’t drink milk, I don’t go

Also, the 400 mg daily requirement is

Combine that approach with the NATURAL vitamin D status our DNA evolved with while living naked outdoors and you have the potential for assisting current cancer treatments and reducing cancer incidence.

“Higher serum vitamin D concentrations are associated with longer leukocyte telomere length in women.”
Higher vitamin D concentrations, easily modifiable through nutritional supplementation, are associated with longer telomeres, which underscores the potentially beneficial effects of this hormone on aging and age-related diseases.
Once you accept Dr. …
Once you accept Dr. Beard’s supposition concerning Amygdalin as being the only substance that can turn off the healing process by dumping cyanide on errant healing/malignant cells then no other theory has merit. Scurvy is avoided and cured with vitamin C. One could argue that iron and manganese are important to scurvy sufferers too, but: without citric acid a patient absolutely cannot survive scurvy regardless of how nutrient-rich his diet is.

there is a huge amount of research demonstrating that correcting vitamin D status will prevent many cancers and improve the prognosis .
b17 may be relevant but we now know for certain that low D3 is implicated at every stage of cancer so it is absolutely certain that correcting D3 insufficiency will improve prognosis or reduce incidence risk.
